Large woven polypropylene sacks, often referred to as FIBCs (Flexible Intermediate Bulk Containers), are made from woven strands of polypropylene, a durable thermoplastic polymer known for its strength, flexibility, and resistance to moisture and chemicals. These sacks come in a variety of sizes, with larger versions typically capable of holding between 1 to 2 tons of material. Their wide range of applications makes them a popular choice for bulk storage and transport across many industries.

Strength and Durability

The primary advantage of large woven polypropylene sacks lies in their remarkable strength. Polypropylene is a material that offers high tensile strength, which means these sacks can hold heavy and bulky materials without tearing or breaking. This strength is especially important in industries where the bags are subjected to rough handling, such as in construction or mining, where heavy aggregates like sand, gravel, or cement are often stored.

Additionally, large woven polypropylene sacks are resistant to wear and tear, moisture, and UV rays. This makes them ideal for both indoor and outdoor use. Whether the bags are exposed to harsh weather conditions, such as rain or direct sunlight, or stored in environments with high humidity or temperatures, they can maintain their structural integrity over time.

Versatility in Material Handling

Large woven polypropylene sacks are incredibly versatile. They are commonly used for a wide variety of materials, including:

Construction materials: sand, gravel, cement, aggregates

Agricultural products: grains, fertilizers, animal feed

Chemicals: powders, pellets, granular substances

Food products: flour, sugar, salt

One of the key features of these sacks is their customizable design. Manufacturers can produce large woven polypropylene sacks with different closure types, such as open tops or spouts for easy filling and unloading. Additionally, bags can be equipped with reinforced lifting loops, making them easy to handle with forklifts, cranes, or other lifting equipment.

Baffle FIBC bags, also known as baffle bulk bags or baffle sacks, are a special variation of the traditional FIBC bag. What sets them apart is the inclusion of internal baffles—reinforced panels that are sewn into the bag to help maintain its shape and structure when filled. The baffles essentially act as internal supports, preventing the bag from bulging outward and helping it retain its square or rectangular shape during storage and transport.

Stability and Space Efficiency

One of the primary benefits of baffle FIBC bags is their stability. Standard FIBC bags, when filled with loose materials like powders or granular substances, can often bulge and lose their shape, making stacking and storage more difficult. The internal baffles prevent this by keeping the bag compact, even when filled with bulky materials. This design allows the bags to retain their form, which makes them easier to stack efficiently in warehouses, storage areas, or during transportation.

Moreover, the enhanced shape and stability of baffle FIBC bags also mean that they can be stacked more efficiently, storage space. The square or rectangular shape, made possible by the baffles, allows bags to be arranged in neat rows, which is especially important in industries with high storage volume needs. When compared to traditional non-baffled FIBC bags, which can often take up more space due to their tendency to bulge, baffle bags offer a more space-efficient solution.

Handling and Durability

Baffle FIBC bags offer similar durability to large woven polypropylene sacks. They are made from the same high-strength polypropylene material, which means they are also resistant to abrasion, UV degradation, and moisture. However, the inclusion of baffles does not compromise their strength. On the contrary, the internal baffles add structural integrity, ensuring that the bags hold up under heavy loads and rough handling.
